Music. Creativity. Community.

Encouraging a Lifelong Love of Music

Who We Are

Welcome to Barron Rice Music Studio! We are a family-friendly music studio serving students in both Putnam and Clay counties through private lessons, group classes, and choir opportunities. We offer instruction in piano, voice, guitar, and ukulele at our home studio in East Palatka and at our Clay County location at Decoy Baptist Church.

All instruction is provided by Barron Rice. Barron holds a Master’s degree in music and has over 20 years of experience. He has performed in the US and abroad as well as taught music in public and private school settings from elementary through high school. Barron is a Direct Provider with Step Up for Students, has completed a Level 2 background check, and is Basic Life Support certified.

Our studio is truly a family affair. We believe music education is about more than learning notes and rhythms — it is an opportunity to build perseverance, discipline, confidence, and creativity in a warm and encouraging environment. We especially love serving homeschool families by offering daytime lesson opportunities and flexible scheduling throughout the year.

Programs & Tuition

  • Lessons are billed as semester tuition rather than by individual lesson. Our fall and spring semesters are 16 weeks in length, while summer semesters are offered in two separate 7-week sessions. Tuition reserves the student’s weekly lesson time for the duration of the semester and supports consistent progress and long-term musical growth.

  • Students receive one-on-one guidance in piano, voice, guitar, or ukulele while developing musical skill, confidence, discipline, and creativity.

Private lessons are $640 for 30 minute private lessons and $1280 for 60 minute private lessons in the 16 week fall and spring semesters. In the 7 week summer semester, private lessons are $280 for 30 minute private lessons and $560 for 60 minute private lessons.

  • Group lessons provide students with the opportunity to learn music in a collaborative and encouraging setting alongside their peers. Through group guitar , voice, and piano classes, students build foundational musical skills, technique, confidence, and teamwork while enjoying the energy and interaction that comes from making music together.

Group lessons are $560 for 16 week spring and fall semesters and $245 for each 7 week summer semester.

  • The Azalea City Children’s Chorus is a seasonal choir program designed to give students the opportunity to grow in vocal skill, teamwork, confidence, and stage performance while making music together in a fun and encouraging environment. Students rehearse and prepare music for community performances, including patriotic repertoire performed as part of the July 4 festivities on the Palatka Riverfront.

Tuition for the summer semester is $330 and includes instructional materials and required program supplies.
